For the winter of 2017-2018 SEFLI has again secured the Samoset Middle School large gym (formerly Sachem South High School) on School Rd, Ronkonkoma, NY for Sunday afternoon indoor flying from 1-4PM. The large school gym is available to us the dates listed on our calendar from October to March without conflict from other activities. All current AMA members are invited, but must present AMA card if requested. Due to significant increase in costs for the facility, ALL PARTICIPANTS (regardless club affiliation) will be charged $5.00 per session except for AMA members of "junior" status. They may fly for free, though if the parents are present, we will not turn away a donation. All models must be electric powered (no fossil fuel engines). Batteries must be charged in fire retardant boxes while on the premises.
Aircraft Size restrictions
The smaller rear gym will be restricted to slow flying 1oz or lighter aircraft. This would include aircraft like the Vapor and the Blade mCX.
The front gym will allow larger, faster aircraft. (Or small ones too if you like) This would include things like the airhogs planes, the micro T-28 Trojan, and the micro P51. Also larger lightweight slow flying aircraft that can manuver in the availble space.
Helicopters in the main gym will restricted to the size of the Blade CX2 or smaller. (Less than 14" rotor diameter)

Exit at Ronkonkoma Ave (Exit 60) From westbound make right at first light (Hawkins Ave), from eastbound, make second left (Hawkins Ave, first left is Ronkonkoma Ave). Travel north on Hawkins Ave through town passing Portion Rd. Make a right (east) onto School Rd. The first school you come to on the left is Gatelot Elementary. After the playground ends, the entrance to Samoset MS is on the left. Park in the lot straight ahead. If you find that gate closed and locked, enter the school a little father east. Make a left and park in the western most parking lot. The main entrance to the school is in front of this parking lot. After entering the school, make a right in the main corridor and the gym will be on your left
